Tigers Duke in Tumour Op

By Danny Wright

Hull City goalkeeper Matt Duke has had a testicular tumour removed.

The 30-year-old recently discovered the tumour and is recuperating following the surgery, and the former Burton Albion man is awaiting test results which are due this week.

Duke signed a contract extension earlier this season keeping him at the KC Stadium till 2010, having been Phil Brown's first choice keeper ahead of Boaz Myhill on Humberside, however a recent injury has kept him out of the side.

Hull chairman Paul Duffen posted a message on the club's official website informing Tigers supporters of the news and wishing the stopper a speedy recovery.
