Boro Without Schwarzer for Royals Clash

by Danny Wright
Middlesborough will be without goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer for their away clash with Reading on Saturday.

The 35-year-old damaged his hand in training on Wednesday and is expected to miss the tie at the Madjeski Stadium.

With back-up keeper Brad Jones injured, Ross Turnbull is set to deputise.

The news comes as a blow to under-fire manager Gareth Southgate whose side currently languish a lowly 17th place in the Premiership.

"There is a fracture there, but we think it is probably nearer two to three weeks rather than the four to six weeks which was initially feared," Southgate told Sky Sports News.
