Wednesday sign Boro keeper Jones

Sheffield Wednesday have signed Middlesbrough goalkeeper Brad Jones on a three-month loan deal.

The 24-year-old will play against Preston on Saturday - and replaces Scott Carson, who is back at Liverpool following his season on loan.

"I would ask the fans to judge Brad by his own standards and not compare him to anyone," said boss Paul Sturrock.

"He has important experience - last season he played 16 Premiership games and two European ties."

Keeper Warner joins Leeds on loan

Leeds have signed goalkeeper Tony Warner on a one-month loan from Fulham.

First-choice keeper Neil Sullivan is doubtful for Saturday's Championship opener against Norwich with a dead leg.

So 32-year-old Warner has been taken on as a standby goalkeeper and could even go straight into the team for the game at Elland Road.

Warner began his career at Liverpool and also played for Millwall and Cardiff before joining Fulham, initially on loan, in 2005.

West Bromwich Albion have rejected a £2.5m bid from Manchester United for goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak.

The Baggies say they are not interested in selling unless United agree to allow striker Giuseppe Rossi to move to the Hawthorns on loan for a season.

Wycombe land Fulham shotstopper

Wycombe have signed their second keeper in successive days by bringing in Fulham player Ricardo Batista on a five-month loan deal.

Wanderers had signed Reading keeper Jamie Young on Wednesday, which followed Steve Williams' departure for Forest Green Rovers.

Wycombe boss Paul Lambert said he was impressed when he saw the Portugal Under-20's star play in a recent match.

"He had little do in the Aldershot game but showed what he can do," he said.

Accrington sign Charlton keeper

Charlton keeper Rob Elliot has joined Accrington Stanley on loan for the 2006/2007 season.

Elliot, 20, will be spending a second spell at the club after helping Accrington Stanley to promotion into the Football League last season.

The keeper recently signed a two-year deal with Charlton this summer and has been loaned by the club to gain first-team experience.

But there is a clause in his loan move allowing him to return in January.
